How I relate to those slides?
Being morbidly obese during my youth wasn’t just about weight – it was a masterclass in low external validation (very very low, to be honest 😅).
At some point, not sure why, my creative (survival) brain brought me this simple practice: “if I can win this today, I can congratulate myself for it.”
What began as tiny mental challenges transformed into something unexpected: I actually started having fun while facing pain, like those brutal sugar cravings!
(temporary self-acceptance as starting point was necessary there, if not I would never start)
These days, I use this mindset to navigate my entire schedule, always scanning for those moments where I can push just a little further.
Real example: I just raised my workout duration from 15min to 40min sessions, 3 times per week (with Apple Fitness+) despite having a shoulder with limited mobility. Had to drop my go-to “injured shoulder” excuse (self-criticism) once I realized I could still work around it while healing (my starting point).
Look, I’m nowhere near my final form in terms of fitness – and that’s okay.
What matters is I’m steadily moving forward and this feels great!
The unexpected bonus? This journey is dramatically boosting my confidence, both in my romantic relationship and as a role model for my childrens.
And to think it all started with these “silly” mental games!
So, which silly game do you play to keep you at your peak?
